TCC Network Cabling - RFP-TC1015

The Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland (TCC) is renovating a 76,000 square foot facility and erecting a maintenance facility on a 26 acre campus in Salisbury Maryland. TCC is issuing this RFP for the installation of low voltage phone/data cabling, terminations, jacks, panels and wire management throughout the facility and for the procurement, installation and configuration of required networking equipment.

Facility Location: 31901 Tri-County Way, Salisbury, MD 21804. The road was renamed from Comtek Lane earlier this year. The facility is located across Rt. 50 from Wor-Wic Community College and west of Walston Switch Road.

Will there be a weight scale in determing the winning bidder?

Are the completion dates the same for both building projects?

The move in date is July 1, 2011? If so, when can the contractors plan to start on the project?

Have the permits been applied for?

Can you speak on the bid alternates: roofing, electricals, etc.?

The Alternate #2 (flooring), it is intended to base bid?

Was the pre-bid meeting mandatory?

What type of Builders Risk Insurance is needed?

When does TCC plan to award the bid?

Have you talked anymore about the backing on the carpet?Can we get more info on the reference in hardware on modifying frames?What takes preference on the doors? Reference on the Hardware, in papers it says 008, but in drawings is says 024, which one would be right? Have any of the drawing changed since the last one?Is the building open for GC's to view?The lighting schedule was a challenge, will that stay the same?Would you accept any more sky lights?The 15-20% over budget, was that 15-20% from the lowest bidder?It doesn't seem like the owner has made enough changes to get the budget back down, are you willing to cut any other areas (shop blasting? skim coating? aluminum vs. copper - it is code compliant) If someone else was hired to do the shop blasting, who would make sure it was done correctly?If the bids are over budget again, what will be done?what is the turn around on the RFI's?what is the minimun warranty on the roof membrane?Vendor expressed concern regarding the timeline for completion of the cabling portion of the project.What hours is the building open for work?When will the drop ceiling be completed?Payment Schedule, how quick can the vendor expect payment?On site safety restrictions?Will Davis Bacon be a concern?With the Network Equipment, can you elaborate a little; does it have to be specifically like it is spec’d out in the RFP?Any provisions in the Server Rooms? What is TCC looking for in the Network Maintenance section?Inspections?What will the Change Order process be?Do the wiring racks need to be the “wide body” racks?Does the network equipment have to be Cisco?What is the emergency support time frame?Will it be monthly billing? What configuration services will TCC need when all parties are moved?Is there any on-site storage available?If we have questions, who can we ask?Is there an Insurance Bond?Drop location conduit?Which drawings should be used?What type of business license does TCC require?
